Bob Chisholm Community Center
The Bob Chisholm Community Center was originally built in the late 1950's and was part of the Catholic Parish in Seaside. In the early years it consisted only of what is known today as the "Main Hall". It had gymnasium flooring and basketball hoops at either end. The exterior was a dark stained board and batten cedar.
As the years progressed, the City of Seaside acquired the building from the church and became a community center, which was available for rental. In 1994, the city began a project to update the building and add additional meeting space, offices, and a large commercial kitchen.
In the fall of 2018, the Main Hall underwent a $320,000 "refresh" project addressing the room's acoustics by adding engineered wall coverings and new flooring. New LED lighting and roller-shades completed the room's new look.
The building is now home to many programs and activities such as the Senior Meal program, which provides a meal to community members ages 60 and over Monday through Friday. Yoga, Tae Kwon Do, and Dance Fitness classes also take place in the building at various times throughout the day.
The center offers rental opportunities in its Main Hall, two meeting rooms and a small conference room. Click here for a Rental Packet with details on pricing.
