*Please note: Pool temperatures listed are for reference only and can vary by up to ±0.5°F.
We are very excited to be able to serve our community during the ongoing epidemic.
If you plan to return to Sunset Pool or the Bob Chisholm Community Center during this time, please know that our procedures, policies and offerings have changed in response to guidelines from Oregon Health Authority (OHA), local officials, and other aquatic facilities across the country. Staff have been attending in-house trainings so that they understand these procedures and are able to answer your questions. Please familiarize yourself with our new way of operating to ensure a smooth transition. Click here for answers to some Frequently Asked Questions.
Our hours and services will be limited over the upcoming months in order to ensure we are able to fully comply with all public health and state mandates. Our hours will be 6:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday-Friday.
General Required Protocols:
-
Bring a mask or face covering for your nose and mouth to wear at check-in and when walking through the facility (NOT required during your workout.)
-
We will take your temperature via a touchless thermometer upon arrival and ask you to answer 5 health questions regarding COVID-19 exposure and symptoms at every visit before entering the facility. OHA guidelines require us to ask anyone presenting a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher to wait until another day to use the facility.
-
Wash hands or use hand sanitizer before entering and exiting the facility.
-
Maintain a six-foot distance from other patrons and staff while you are in the building.
Reserving Your Fitness Time:
-
You can register for 45-minute blocks of time (which includes your time in the locker room) each day, Monday-Friday. Each block begins at the top of the hour and gives staff 15 minutes between each block to sanitize locker rooms and common areas of the building, including the gym prior to the next group entering the building.
-
Space is limited during our initial reopening phase due to social distancing guidelines, so please be courteous and help us ensure that everyone gets a chance to reserve a block of time.
-
Consecutive blocks of time are not available at this time.
-
Your reservation is limited to the activity you have chosen. If you reserved a spot in the lap pool, you will not be able to use the warm water pool or gym during that time.
Online reservation is available for those who already have a login for our system, and the link can be found here. Otherwise, staff are available from 6am to 6pm Monday through Friday by calling (503) 738-3311 and following the prompts.
Membership Information:
-
All active membership passes were put on hold during the COVID closure. Memberships will be reactivated upon your first visit to Sunset Pool. If you are unsure about the status of your membership pass, please call our front desk and staff will be happy to assist you.
Please note that Sunset Pool's Phased reopening presents our best attempt to balance important services and programs with safety for our patrons and staff. Please be gracious with us (we’ll do the same towards you!) as we work through this new “normal”. During this period:
-
No cash accepted
-
No open swims
-
Lobby will be closed except for patron check-in
-
No facility tours
We understand that these changes mean that Sunset Pool looks and feels very different from what you are used to. We are trying our best to proceed with caution while still offering important services. Your patience and understanding is appreciated as we continue to get back to normal operation.
